Caleb grew up in a supportive Whitehorse home with sports central to family life. He chose Oregon for the best opportunity to develop and reach the NFL.

Caleb retired after 2018 with his drive to keep playing gone and a sense that he had accomplished what he wanted. He focused on family and private life.
